A Sampling Of Interesting Film Summaries To View

By Wesley Pope

It wasn't that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. Now, with internet usage exploding, movie downloads are becoming very popular. Here are some examples of movies you can acquire through a movie download site.

Doulos The Finger: Delightful round-the-globe venture based on the real tale of a l6-year-old who cruises to every conceivable port. The movie was generated by Gregory Poke and filmed on location. Cast includes Joseph Bottoms, Deborah Raffin, John McLiam, and Dabney Coleman. (105 minutes, 1974)

Stallion Road: Devoted veterinarian Reagan and novelist buddy Scott vie for the benevolence of horse rancher Smith; low-key drama written by Stephen Longstreet. Cast includes Ronald Reagan, Alexis Smith, Zachary Scott, Peggy Knudsen, Patti Brady, and Harry Davenport. (91 minutes, 1947)

The Daring Dobermans: The film offers friendly family viewing as the canines are prepared for a different challenging heist by a new team of crooks. Cast includes Charles Knox Robinson, Tim Considine, David Moses, Claudio Martinez, and Joan Caulfield. (90 minutes, 1973)

Mickey Blue Eyes: Alarmingly unfunny story based on the renowned nearsighted animation personality refreshed in the energized credits, with Greg Burson filling in for Jim Backus as the voice of Magoo. Nielsen does his best unconditionally, although the pointlessly difficult plot about the theft of a dear cherry just goes on and on. There are a tremendous amount of mean spirited characters for a kid's film. Cast includes Hugh Permit, James Caan, Jeanne Trippet, Leslie Nielsen, Jennifer Gamer, Malcolm McDowell, and Miguel Ferrer. (103 minutes, 1999)

Marley and Me: Johnny and Jenny Grogen have moved to Florida to start their new life together. Jenny is ready for children, but John isn't so sure. Instead, he gets her a puppy, Marley. Marley turns out to quite a bit to handle.

White Noise: Jonathan Rivers has lost his wife Anne. Then, he is contacted by a man who claims to have heard Anne's voice, and has a recording of it. Then Jonathan himself captures a recording of Anne's voice, and an image of her on video. Anne's message to Jonathan is to find the brutal killer that took her life, so he won't harm anyone else.

Hollow Man: Sebastian Caine is working on a top-secret assignment for the U.S. government. He is trying to unlock the keys to human invisibility. After succeeding on laboratory animals, he can't resist, and takes the serum himself. He becomes irreversibly invisible, and feels threatened by those trying to cure him.

Casper: Casper is a friendly ghost that lives in a haunted house, Whipstaff Manor. The owner of Whipstaff Manor has sent Dr. Harvey, who is accompanied by his daughter Kat, to remove all the ghosts from the house so she can recover the treasure that is supposedly in the old manor. What will be poor Casper's fate?

Holiday: First rendition of Philip Barry's play in reference to non-conformity is a delightful film. An untidy early talkie with projecting that in some cases Astor, Owsley even tops the more renowned 1938 rendition. Horton plays the identical role in both films. Cast includes Ann Harding, Robert Ames, Mary Astor, Edward Everett Horton, Hedda Basket, and Monroe Owsley. (96 minutes, 1930)
