Blues Clues Party Supplies For Your Child's Special Day

By Rand Fortescue

You can delight your preschooler by holding a fun, fantastic theme birthday party using Blues Clues party supplies. Blue is everyone's favorite television puppy and a hit with the under 5 crowd. You can order supplies on line or get the kids together and make these Blue's Clues invitations and decorations yourself.

Your child's friends will be singing Steve and Joe's favorite song when the mail arrives. "We just got a letter.. We just got a letter...". Make your own "pawty" invitations by using 3x5 cards. You can draw or stamp a big blue paw print on each one. Write "here's your first clue! We're having balloons and lots of cake, too !" Use a colorful marker to write out party details on the other side.

Blue leaves her paw prints everywhere, so they should be everywhere at the party. On streamers, paper plates, cups and all over the table. You can draw paw prints with a blue marker or stamp them using a paw print stamp pad. The balloons should be blue and white and if you have helium balloons, tie them to a stuffed toy - a Blue's Clues toy of course, and set that in the middle of the table.

For an extra, special touch, make Joe's house out of a very large box. You can probably get one from an appliance store, along with some extra pieces to make a roof. Paint it red and orange and let the kids have fun. Party favors, Blue's style can be a breeze to create with a little ingenuity and taking a clue from activities she and Joe like to do best.

Where else should you write down the clues you find than in a handy dandy notebook? Decorate small spiral ring notebooks, which you can find at a dollar store, with stickers, markers, ribbons and small pieces of fabric. Blue's friends, Pail and Shovel are always ready to play games in the backyard with Blue, Pail and Shovel can be take-home friends too. Purchase small pails and shovels from a five and dime store and draw faces on them with indelible ink.

Dress-up items can be popular Blue's Clue party supplies, Blue's ears can be easily made using a white ball cap or painter's hat with a peak. You'll need blue and red felt for the ears and tongue and a black marker to draw the face. Cut long, droopy ears out of the blue felt and a tongue out of the red. Then glue, staple or sew the ears and tongues on each hat.

Blue's dog cookies: We mean people cookies, of course! Using your favorite sugar cookie recipe, cut dog paw shapes out of the rolled dough, bake and decorate with blue icing. All it takes is a little bit of work, some creative Blues Clue party supplies and you'll have created a party your child will remember forever.
