A Jumble Of Basic Film Plot Summaries

By Ricky Perkins

In the past you had to go to a store if you wanted to rent or buy a movie. These days you can stay at home and get movies form a movie download site. You can get virtually any movie you want with a good movie download site. Here are some examples.

Eddie: Basketball nut Edwina 'Eddie' Franklin is a diehard New York Knick fan. She knows everything about the team; players, coaches, statistics, and how they play. In last place, the Knick seem to be a hopeless team. One night at a game Eddie is picked from the crowd to shoot a free throw. If she makes it she can coach the team for one game. She makes the shot, and is living a dream come true. What happens next is even more incredible. The owner offers her the job for the rest of the season.

Hills Have Eyes Part 2: Lame continuation has a group of youthful motocross fanatics stranded in the desert, preyed upon by primitive clan. This is loaded with flashback footage from the 1977 film, containing one pattern ludicrously alleging to be a memory by a mutt. Cast includes Michael Berryman, John Laughin, Tamara Stafford, Kevin Blair, and John Bloo. (88 minutes, 1985)

Another 48 Hours: The team from 48 Hours is back in action. Ex con Reggie Hammond, now freed from prison, is coerced by Detective Jack Gates to help him with another problem. Gates has been hunting an elusive powerful drug dealer. He needs Reggie's help to catch this guy.

Days of Wine and Roses: Modern Lost Weekend set in San Francisco, with Lemmon wedding Remick and lugging her into a state of alcoholism. Practical direction and abrasive inscribing combine for phenomenal outcome. Cast includes Jack Lemmon, Lee Remick, Charles Bickford, Jack Klugman, Alan Hewitt, Tom Palmer, and Jack Albertson. (117 minutes, 1962)

The Air I Breathe: Four overlapping, connect the dots storylines, based on a Chinese proverb and titled "Cheerfulness," "Delight," "Grief," and "Love," contain this mess of a film. Starts out promisingly, as a disgruntled office android Whitaker unintentionally comprehends that a horse race has been fixed, then disgraces into a cartoon like train ruin. Beating music score, choppy revising, and arrogant narration are no help. Cast includes Kevin Bacon, Julie Delpy, Brendan Fraser, Andy Garcia, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Clark Gregg, Emile Hirsch, Woodland Whitaker, Kelly Hu, Evan Parke, Taylor Nichols, Winner Rivers, and Jon Bernthal. (97 minutes, 2008)

Who Framed Roger Rabbit: This is an animated mystery movie. Roger Rabbit has been framed for murder. Washed up, alcoholic detective Eddie Valiant, is trying to clear Roger's name.

Crystal Heart: Youthful guy who should live his life like the "boy in a bubble," restricted to a commanded atmosphere, creates a relation with a seductive stone singer with whom he's fallen in love long-distance. Soft, unsurprising trip with music video parts from Kitaen. Cast includes Tawny Kitaen, Lee Curreri, Lloyd Bochner, Simon Andreu, Might Heatherly, and Marina Saura. (102 minutes, 1987)

Sullivan's Travels: Sick of making fluff, film controller McCrea plans to do a "earnest' film; to analysis it, he sets out with 1O' in his compartment to experience .life in "the genuine planet." Dry and grief mix seamlessly sick this landmark Hollywood satire, which grows more relevant with each passing year. Cast includes Joel McCrea, Veronica Pool, Robert Warwick, William Demarest, Margaret Hayes, Al Bridge, and Franklin Pangborn. (90 minutes, 1942)

I Sailed to Tahiti with an All Girl Crew: One of the all time camp classics, if only for its title. Sadly, film doesn't live down to its anticipations. Cast includes Gardner McKay, Fred Clark, Diane McBain, Pat Buttram, and Edy Williams. (95 minutes, 1968)
