Characteristics Of A Square Trampoline

There are various types of square trampoline according to how they are used. There is the Outdoor/Backyard trampoline type found in homes. Another is the Outdoor/ Water trampoline type used in swimming. Lastly the third type is the Indoor/Exercise trampoline type used in gyms, clinics, and homes.

The above mentioned types of square trampoline also vary in its dimension. The large ones are mainly used for recreation. These are the outdoor/water trampoline and outdoor/backyard types. Their size ranges from 8'x8' to 15'x15'. The water type square trampoline is used mainly as a sunbathing area or as a swimming platform. While the smaller square trampoline types are those used in therapy exercises which are found in clinics and hospitals. Their size ranges from 38"x38" to 40"x40". These smaller types can also be seen in homes as a play facility for small children, those starting from age 5 and above. The only difference between these two types of small square trampoline is a slight difference in design.

The Square trampoline is basically of a tightly stretched heavy duty fabric. It is attached to sturdy square steel framing, by using coiled springs. The coiled springs are distributed in a criss-cross pattern to be able to support the weight that the fabric will carry. It is said that the quality of bounce in the square trampoline is similar with the circular trampoline. Both have harsher bounce in as compared to the rectangular design.

Accessories for a square trampoline are similar with other trampoline types. Handling bars or safety bars for routines such as jumps, walks, and balance exercises. Ladders as access to and from the jumping pad, it can be bought separately. Padded frames are for safety, the thickness also varies but the having thicker pads the better. Springs or coils can be replaced for safety assurance, due to wear and frequency of use. Heavy duty mats are available for replacement, preferably after 5-6 years of use. Nets enclosure is for outdoor type trampolines. While the water type square trampoline only differs by having an inflatable body and a water resistant surface.

Trampolines are designed for long-term use, yet unforeseen equipment damages may occur in the long run. Replacements for parts are available and it depends on the brand or product type. Mats can be ordered, just by providing only the size of the mat to the supplier. Used but in good condition trampoline parts, are also available upon inquiry, if finding for cheaper buys. Overall, proper handling and usage is still recommended for the equipment to last its estimated product life.

Another notable feature of trampoline design is its flexibility. It can be easily set up and dismantled. Manufacturers made it either to be detachable or foldable in type. For some brands, wheels are added accessory for the product, for easy transport. The string pull tool is also an optional tool that makes setting up trampolines much easier. In general there are a lot of choices for square trampoline. In the market such products have variety in design, color, material specs, weight capacity, prices, and structural quality.
