Washington Redskins Rely on Jason Campbell

By Ryan Moran

Which version of Jason Campbell is it Redskins NFL fans should expect to see this year? The qb that is maligned and practically out of town? Or is he the next version of Doug Williams, just like Clinton Portis has so powerfully revealed lately?

Campbell's execution is what this season is all going to revolve around. Clinton Portis may end this season with about eleven thousand rush yards for his career, aligning himself for Hall of Fame deliberation with nearly three or 4 solid years remaining in his playing days.

It will not make a difference.

Malcolm Kelly can turn out to be one of the choice youthful WRs in the league this season, capable of receiving parallels to Andre Johnson and Calvin Johnson by year's end.

It won't mean much.

Brian Orakpo might be the next version of Lawrence Taylor, wreaking havoc on the left side of the whole NFC East division.

It will not make a difference.

The only thing holds importance is that Washington wins no less than ten games, and that Jason Campbell is the most eminent individual in each one of these anticipated ten wins.

Never mind the reality that he played 8 straight games in 2008 lacking an INT, it was all revolving around the marvelous Clinton Portis at some point in that run. When things went sour for the team, it was not Clinton Portis that shouldered the criticism.

It was Campbell, who wasn't the only Redskin with lowered production at some point in the blackout, but was the sole addressee of the talk radio and print media drama that came after.

The majority of people are in Jason Campbell's defense, and nobody heads up that corner's praise louder than me.

But from a place of objectivity, there's a fine line between brilliance and calamity for him this approaching year, and zero else Washington might do or is able to do will overshadow the stability he must show from week one and later.
