The Adjuster: This film is a bold seductive study of voyeurism and the electrical energy of icons. Amid the characters is an insurance adjuster who plays games with the lives of those he handles. Meanwhile, his spouse secretly tapes the pornographic material she's categorizing. Stars include Elias Koteas, Arsinee Khanjian, Maury Chaykin, Gabrielle Rose, and Jennifer Dale. The Painted Desert: Clash and romance between the adopted child Boyd and the daughter of 2 long-feuding Westerners. A tad firm, albeit the landscape is gorgeous; remarkable mostly for Gable's talkie debut. Some action shots are missing and suddenly cut out to use in 1938 redo. Cast includes William Boyd, Helen, William Farnum, Farrell MacDonald, and Clark Gable. (75 minutes, 1931)

Richie Rich: Entertaining babies' film with Culkin as the comic book personality Richie Rich, the planet's wealthiest boy-which naturally makes him the target of attack. Hyde is phenomenal as the boy's extremely appropriate valet friend, and Herrmann and Ebersole are admiring as Richie's parents. Avoids some of the formulaic crudity of John Hughes films, however diminishes throughout the protracted action finale. Cast includes Macaulay Culkin, John Larroquette, Edward Herrmann, Jonathan Hyde, Michael McShane, Chelcie Ross, and Ben Stein. (95 minutes, 1994)
